I just realized that I haven't posted in a forever and a half. Where had the time gone??
Today was a marvelously wonderful amazing day. The reason? Daylight savings ended (or stared, I can never remember which). According to me and Joseph, daylight savings is up there with other great inventions like Krispy Creme Doughnuts, chocolate and gravity. Anyway, daylight savings changed, granting everyone (except you poor Arizonians out there) and extra hour of sleep.
*Que Hallelujah Chorus*
Sleep, sleep, sleep. It seems to be in short supply these days. Especially for us high schoolers. Spencer has it worse then me, the poor kid. With adjusting to ninth grade and finally finishing marching band, he finally has some sleeping time, but he first month of school was a time of little sleep for him.
hmmmm I haven't blogged in a while (sorry!) so there's a lot I could say, but my mind is having a blank. I guess that I will just spew my brain onto the page, and hope it makes sense. Here we go!
1) For starters, I'M A SENIOR!!!!! I can hardly believe it. I only have 3 terms left of high school, and then it is onto college. It has kind of snuck up on me. I have to get so much stuff before I move out. Dishes and pots and pans and food and bedding and a bike and all sorts of other things. Whew!! It's crazy!! I'm applying to colleges. I have my sights set on BYU, and I'm pretty positive that I will make it in, if I can finish the really annoying 300 word essays I have to write. You wouldn't think that writing 300 words is hard, but it is!! I have to condense my writing and sound unique and make the essay readers like me and get my thoughts across in only 300 words. It is so aggravating. But I'll get through, and applications will be over soon. The priority deadine for most schools is December 1st, and I WILL have my application in by then if it kills me. Wish me luck!!
2) It's hard to believe that Cross Country is over. Yes, I did write Cross Country. I know, it's amazing that I actually did it (and liked it even). I'm pretty sure I though that I was insane for signing up on the first day of practice, but I got through the worst of it, and I grew to love running. It had been my first time doing it, and it was not the fastest runner (my fastest 5K was 27.05), but I had a blast! I have learned many important things from cross country, number one being that it is impossible to smile while running a 5K. You get so tired by the second mile that smiling is using too many extra muscles. Who knew?
3) I got a job!!! After months of looking for an after school job, and almost giving up, my friend Ben told me that BYU was looking for people to test their new home study program. I checked it out, applied for the position, and three days later, I found myself working for BYU Independant Study. It was an answer to many prayers.
Anyways there are lots of other things happening, but it is 8:30 and I am going to get a full 10 hours of sleep ,or at least 9 1/2. Boo Yah!!
